Support Thorold Amateur Hockey, Support Your Community.

The Blackhawks have completed their first season under new ownership, and are excited to announce many exciting sponsorship and advertising opportunities. With plans to incorporate a much stronger online and digital presence into our traditional advertising mix, the Blackhawks brand and your brand will be intertwined reaching a larger audience on many different and engaging platforms. This is a guaranteed success for both the Blackhawks, who rely on your support to continue to deliver quality hockey, and for your business to gain an edge in an increasingly competitive marketplace. Below is a brief overview of the Thorold Blackhawks.

The Thorold Blackhawks Junior Hockey Club recently went through a transfer of ownership on July 6, 2017. Scott Barnes is the new owner of the organization and has brought a more community oriented program back to Thorold. Thorold has had a Junior hockey team since 1963, providing 16-20-year old’s a place to not only develop and further their hockey careers, but their life skills as well. With the focus on community, Thorold Blackhawk players strive to be positive role models that people of all ages can admire. The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) in which the Blackhawks currently play in is one of the strongest Junior leagues in North America with players advancing to Junior A and College hockey.

The Blackhawks were League Champions in 2001, 2003, 2004, and 2005. In 2005, the team went on to capture the Sutherland Cup as the best Jr. B team in Ontario. Many players that started their careers in Thorold went on to play in the Ontario Hockey League, the American Hockey League, and the National Hockey League. Notable alumni include Nathan Horton, John Scott, Zenon Konopka, Dwayne Roloson and Owen Nolan.

The Blackhawks roster is made up of local players as well as players across North America. In addition to benefiting the players, the team also brings revenue to the community and surrounding area, all while supporting the Thorold Community Arena. There are over 50 games, providing a multitude of opportunities to reach potential customers from across Southwestern Ontario. Your investment in this organization is an investment in the community as well as the future of all the young adults who continue to play hockey locally.
